Welcome to the Sam Nunn Federal Fitness Center Experience.  My name is Clinton James Smith and I have been the Chairman of the Sam Nunn Federal Fitness Center Wellness Oversight Committee (WOC) since 1995.  The gym officially opened in 1997 and Federal Occupational Health (FOH) was chosen to hire a vendor to run our facility.  In June 2012 FOH informed the Wellness Oversight Committee that it would not be able to serve us any longer.  After much thought and deliberation, a decision was made to convert the gym into a Non-Profit Organization to prevent it from closing.  The newly formed Sam Nunn Federal Fitness Center, Inc. opened its doors on October 1, 2012, and I took on the role as President of the non-profit.

The gym started with literally nothing in its coffers but the majority of the existing staff worked hard and stayed dedicated to make the SNFFC a success. I dedicated a great deal of my own time to keep the gym open and I’m eternally grateful to the committee members and fitness staff that helped along the way.  Our gym has overcome countless challenges and obstacles during this transitional period, but now is almost to the point where it can run itself! To date, we have approximately 385 members and soon there will be a system in place at the front so that members no longer have to wear their badges once they check in.
